Capital Heat contributes to award-winning residential property

In 2021, the American Institute of Architects Buffalo/WNY Chapter announced its Architecture Awards, awarding nine local buildings and their development teams with honors in architecture, design, merit, community, and service.

Capital Heat is proud to have installed a geothermal heating and cooling unit inside one of two residential properties that took home (pun intended) a Best Design Award. The residential property, which is known as the 4+2 House, is a stunning split-level home that one might describe as a “modern-day Frank Lloyd Wright.”

The 4+2 House was designed by Elaine Y. Chow, a registered architect and adjunct professor with the School of Architecture and Planning at the University at Buffalo. Alongside Capital Heat, other project consultants included:

With a geothermal heating and cooling system from Capital Heat, the 4+2 House will benefit from one of the most innovative and energy-efficient forms of HVAC technology on the market today. Here’s how it works:

Installing geothermal systems requires a scientific approach, which is a testament to the certified mechanical engineers at Capital Heat. To install geothermal systems with precision, our engineering team leverages more than 20 years of experience in thermodynamics and fluid flow. And because we’ve been sizing and designing heating and cooling systems since 1957, we know what it takes to collaborate with homeowners, custom-fit solutions that reduce heating and cooling loads, and maximize efficiency and sustainability at the same time.

If you’re interested in installing a geothermal heating and cooling system in your residential, commercial, or community building–let us know! Call us at (716) 683-7336 or contact us online today

Thank you and congratulations to the 4+2 House homeowners, Ms. Chow, and all the other contributors for giving us the opportunity to participate in this project. We are so thrilled to share your success! And congratulations to all the other AIA award winners and nominees whose work is both beautiful and inspirational.
